Betty Crist Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty G. Crist, 83, of Fraziers Bottom, WV died January 3, 2011 at her home. Born February 20, 1927 in Putnam County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Goldie Vance Devore. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Leola Richards, Delores ?Dinky? Young; her brothers, Clyde, Rex, Dwight and Jay. Betty served as Postmaster of the Fraziers Bottom Post Office from 1964 until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of NAPUS and the League of Postmasters. She was an active member of the Fraziers Bottom United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 150, Buffalo. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, John Henry Crist; her children and their spouses, Franklin Eugene ?Frank? and Marsha Crist, Virginia Dare ?Jenny? and Linford Sisson, Shirley Keeling and Richard Jones, Constance Sue ?Connie? and Rick Ranson all of Fraziers Bottom; her brothers, Jack Devore of Circleville, OH, Carroll Devore of Crown City, OH and Donnie Devore of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandsons and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, January 6, 2010 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Rd., Hurricane with Pastor Rick Ranson and Rev. Kenneth Coon officiating. Entombment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House, WV. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 6-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
