Betty H. Taylor

Betty H. Taylor, 79 of St. Albans passed away Monday September 12, 2016. Born June 28, 1937 in Putney, WV, Betty was a daughter of the late Henry James Hudnall and Gladys (Hackney) Hudnall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Adrian Ulbrich, second husband Joe Taylor and siblings, Denny Hudnall, Ronnie Hudnall and Theda Casdorph. Betty was a long-time resident of Kanawha County and for a time had resided in West Palm Beach Florida before returning to West Virginia and settling in St. Albans. She was a former elementary school teacher with Kanawha County Schools and after retirement was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and Thomas Memorial Hospital. Betty was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in St. Albans and was involved with the United Methodist Women. She was also active with the Red Hat Club. Betty had a love of travel. She had been to five of the seven continents and all over the United States with her family and friends. She is survived by her children; Alan Ulbrich and wife Tricia of Purcellville, VA, Beth Ulbrich Hill and husband James of Rohnert Park, Calif.; step-daughters, Margie Ann Taylor Bauer and husband Daryll of Proctorville, OH and Cassandra Taylor Vance of Charleston; grandchildren, Candice Ulbrich, Ian Peggs, Ashley Peggs and Alison Ulbrich; step-grandchildren, Anthony Bauer, Brian Vance and Joey Vance; sister Rose Snodgrass of Williamstown; brother, Mickey Hudnall of Charleston and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home. In keeping with Betty’s giving nature, the family encourages donations to her memory be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
