Charles Bodkin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles F. Bodkin, 86, of Teays Valley passed away July 23, 2011 in CAMC Teays Valley Hospital following a short illness. Born April 14, 1925, he was a son of the late John and Goldie Davis Bodkin, He was also preceded in death by his wives, Betty Bodkin and Pat Bodkin. Charles was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Hurricane, He retired from Union Carbide Corporation as a chemical operator and warehouseman, a US Army Veteran serving in WWII in the European, North African and Asiatic Theaters of Operation, member of VFW Teays Valley Post #9097. When Charles health permitted he enjoyed bowling. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, David and Diana Bodkin of Pt. Pleasant; sister, Millie (Kenneth) Birthisel of Elkview; brother, John Bodkin of Florida; special friend, Otis his dog. Service will be 1:00p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV with Rev. Lawrence Hoptry officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
