Charles "Chuck" Meadows

Charles “Chuck” H. Meadows 68, of Winfield, WV passed away on January 1, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. Chuck was born to the late Marshall and Bernie Jane Kingsbury Meadows on May 16, 1957 in Guyandotte, WV. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters: Joyce Austin and Sandy Scarberry; and his brother, Benny Meadows. He was a former member of Winfield Vol. Fire Department, where he served 24 years and also on the Board of Directors there. He was very active in getting the WVFD Substation started and located in Fraziers Bottom, WV. He lastly worked for Hurricane Wrecker starting there in Feb 1999 with Wayne Lively until Charleston Auto took ownership in Oct 2008. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Judith A. Dawson Meadows; children: Bethany (Jason) Holley of Glenwood, WV, Brent (Kelly) Meadows of Powell, OH, John (Sara) Lovejoy of Charleston, WV, Jonathan Meadows of Fraziers Bottom, Travis Meadows of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Vanessa (Max) Bailes of Hurricane, WV, and Joe Meadows of Winfield, WV; brothers: Mike (Brenda) Meadows of Ona, WV, Jeff (Debbie) Meadows of Talcott, WV, and Rick (Teresa) Meadows of Ona, WV; former wife and mother of his boys: Beverly (Dayton) Wilcoxen-Milhoan of Fraziers Bottom, WV; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude and appreciation for the love, support and friendship over the years but especially during Chuck’s illness to Mike Shirkey, Chris and Angel Reed, with Hurricane Wrecker. Additionally, the family appreciates the staff of the MICU CAMC Memorial Divison, RN Tammy and Dr. Iqbal who took such special care of Chuck, as well as all the nurses at CAMC Cancer Center in Charleston and Teays Valley, especially Stephanie Long, and the biggest thanks to Dr. Chan, his oncologist. Funeral Service for Chuck will be 2:00pm Sunday January 11, 2026 at Chapman Funeral Home Hurricane, WV with Pastor Gary Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Church Cemetery on Turkey Creek Road in Hurricane, WV. Friends may visit the family 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane as well as an hour prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
