Jenny Brown, 87, of St Albans, passed away February 15, 2015 at CAMC in Teays Valley. She was born September 9, 1927, in Emmons, but lived most of her life in St Albans. Jenny was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie; parents, Ezra and Sadie Graley; brothers Early (Eleanor) Graley, Everette (Mozelle) Graley, Emory (Margaret) Graley, Ezra (Iwanna) Graley; sisters Delcie (Joe) Snodgrass, and Grace (Keith) Rabel. She is survived by daughter, Beverly (Newton) Graham, grandsons Jared and Justin Graham, granddaughter Jamie, great-grandson Jackson and great-granddaughter Laney, all of Teays Valley; brother William (Carol) Graley of St Albans, and sister Phyllis (George) Kinzer of Tampa, FL. Although Jenny was only 5 foot, she was feisty, big-hearted, strong, and lived life to the fullest. After a divorce when her two daughters were very young, she learned to drive and started selling Avon (which she did for over 50 years) to support her small family. This was made more difficult by the fact that her youngest daughter was born premature and suffered from cerebral palsy, living her 50 year of life in a wheelchair. She was also the primary caregiver for her widowed mother for almost 20 years. She took everything in stride and even found time for her numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members who loved her dearly. Jenny always answered “I love you” with “I love you da dostest” which she picked up from great-granddaughter Laney when she was little. She was known as Gigi to her great-grandchildren and often called the energizer bunny because she could be found playing with the children. She was known to her grandchildren and even their friends as “Little Mamaw”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jenny graduated from Washington District High School in 1945. She was a devout Christian attending Southwest Church of God, West Albans Church of God, and Teays Valley Church of God during her lifetime. Bartlett Chapman Funeral Home, family owned and located at 409 Sixth Ave, St. Albans, is honored to serve the Brown family.
