Delena Howery Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Delena W. Howery, 87, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord October 18, 2012. Born March 6, 1925 in Longbottom, OH, she was one of the children born to Jennings Evan and Edna G. Ashley White. She was preceded in death by a son, John Richard Howerton. She was a retired telegraph operator clerk from Conrail Railroad with 35 years of service and was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ, Scott Depot. She spent her spare time quilting and sewing, which she enjoyed immensely. She is survived by her children, Paul Roger Howerton of Cleveland, OH, Raymond Wesley Howerton of Florida, Janietta Grace Hunt of South Charleston and Deitra Susan Howerton of Huntington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings. Also surviving are her sisters, Darlin Thornton of Pt. Pleasant, Delores Russell of St. Albans, Dixie C. Martin of Pliny, June A. Hesson of Tennessee; her brothers, Clayton H. White of Florida, J. Douglas White of Ohio, Richard E. White of Virginia, Ralph Wayne White of Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane with Minister Tim Jorgenson officiating.
