Doris Baker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Doris Jeanne Baker, 80 of St. Albans passed away peacefully at Thomas Memorial Hospital on January 19, 2010 from complications of congestive heart failure. Jeanne was born and raised in Harrison County, the daughter of John and Sylvia "Toots" Satterfield Squires. She has been a resident of Kanawha County for the past 53 years and was a retired bookkeeper for Orders and Haynes Paving Company. She was a Christian and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, the St. Albans Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Montrose Rebekah Lodge # 287, and the Rebekah Assembly of West Virginia. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased in death by her brother, James Squires and her sister, Myra Cain. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Wayne Baker and her daughter, Rebecca Baker of Rock Branch; aunts, Betty Colosino of Monongah, Cora Sue VanderSluis of Morgantown; nephews, Tommy Cain of Willis, Texas, Jamie Squires of Jersey City, NJ; nieces, Susan Moss of Lumberton, Texas, Beth Miller of League City, Texas, and Jane Heston of Fairmont. Service will be at 11:00 am Friday January 22, 2010 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans with Rev. Richie McNeil officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home with a Rebekah Lodge service at 7:00 pm.
