Edward Lee Whittington

Edward Lee Whittington was born on July 25, 1961 and entered into the Lord Jesus’ presence on June 3, 2024. Ed was the youngest child of Frank and Allie Whittington (Trent) of St. Albans, WV. He was a 1980 graduate of Hurricane High School. He was married to his wife of 41 years, Tina (Morris) on July 10, 1982. Ed was a proud father, Pop, and uncle. He loved to study his Bible, talk of what he had learned, to read, spend time outdoors, and most of all to spend time watching and playing with his grandchildren. Ed was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Hurricane, WV. He loved his church family and enjoyed fellowship with believers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Whittington and Allie Trent of St. Albans, and grandchild “Baby Whittington” (miscarried 2013). He is survived by his beloved wife: Justine (Tina) Whittington; son: Frankie Whittington Scott Depot, WV; son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Elizabeth Whittington Ponca City, OK; and seven grandchildren: Phoebe, Priscilla, Moses, Elisha, Simeon, Corrianna, and Tabitha Whittington. He is also survived by his siblings: Charles (Suzy) Whittington, Rita Woodall, and Ronny (Debbie) Whittington; and siblings-in-law: Robert (Barbara) Morris, Patricia Morris, Joni (Bill) Winkler; and many nephews and nieces. Most of all, Ed loved the Lord Jesus. In his last conversation with his son, Bill, Ed said, “The gospel is simple: Christ died for my sins and rose again.” In that hope, Ed will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Scott Depot, WV. His soul in the presence of Jesus. His body awaiting the blessed hope of Jesus’ return. Tina, Frankie and Bill invite family and friends to Celebrate Ed’s Life at Calvary Baptist Church 3653 Teays Valley Road Hurricane, WV on Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Aaron Karr officiating. A private family burial will occur in the family cemetery on the farm. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
