Faye Ida McGraw

Faye McGraw, 86, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at CAMC Memorial, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born in Little Perry, near Morehead, KY, on December 1, 1930, she was the seventh child in a family of twelve children. She married Romie Lee McGraw on January 21, 1950. They moved to St. Albans in 1951 and she started attending the Green Valley Church of God and did until the time of her death. She was a very active member of WCG. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved Him with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Romie Lee; parents, Everett and Luella Oney of Morehead, KY; several brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Surviving her are her children, Janet Drumheller (Mike) of St. Albans, Edwina Martin of Liberty Township, OH and Dondeena McGraw of St. Albans; a very special grandson, Luke Martin, of Liberty Township, OH; a sister, Eula Adkins of Morehead, KY; two brothers, Carl Oney of Muncie, IN and Ervin Oney of New Berne, NC. Miss Faye, as she was affectionately known by many, enjoyed all forms of crafting, was an excellent seamstress for many years, enjoyed history, loved to travel, and especially loved quilting with the ladies at the Highlawn 1st Church of God. She was retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided especially by Kim Foster who was like a daughter to Miss Faye; her life-long friend Edith Lewis who was there when needed and the excellent care provided by the staff of CAMC 4-West. Visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, 6 to 8 p.m., at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 1, at 11:00 a.m., at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Pastors Thomas Coll and David Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to consider making a donation in her honor to the Green Valley Church of God, 518 Green Valley Drive, St. Albans, WV, 25177, which recently burned.
