Frances Oliver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Frances Cleo Oliver, 67 of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2011, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Frances was born March 12, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Barney and Frances Cardell. She was a resident of St. Albans and a longtime member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed attending church and cooking. She loved collecting cookbooks and trying out various recipes she found. She was an ?AWESOME? cook and her food was enjoyed by many. She enjoyed crafting and had a knack for home interior design. Frances loved animals, but her standard poodles Reece and Co-Co were dearly loved and pampered. Those who knew our Mother would agree that she had a sense of humor like no other and a heart of gold; but her favorite enjoyment came by spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Our Mother was a courageous woman who was dearly loved and admired for her strength and courage. We will forever hold her close to our hearts; she will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. She is survived by her husband, Gary Oliver of St. Albans; daughters, Kristy (Stephen) Donelson of St. Albans, Kasia Meadows (Christopher Withrow) of St. Albans; sons, Mark (Jackie) Oliver of Colorado Springs, CO, Matt (Nikki) Oliver of St. Albans; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary and Nathaniel Barnes of St. Albans, Allie Meadows and unborn grandson, Samuel Withrow of St. Albans, Caitlin, Haley and Seth Oliver of Colorado Springs, CO and Addison, Abigail, Reagan and Mattie Oliver of St. Albans. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rose Ginder of Florida and Betty Robertson of Georgia, as well as many other family and friends. A special thanks to the doctors and staff at St. Francis Hospital. Thank you for administering such good care to Frances. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Washington Street Church of Christ, 601 Washington Street, St. Albans with Minister Eddie Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may visit from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans, WV. You may also visit one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
