James Paxton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James M. Paxton James M. "Jim" Paxton, 98, of St. Albans, died December 27, 2010 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. Born September 9, 1912 near Cattletsburg, KY, he was a son of the late John Benjamin and Letta Bayless Paxton. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Paxton Moore and his brother, Robert Paxton. Beginning a career spanning more than 40 years, Jim assisted in the building of the Union Carbide plant, Alloy, WV and retired as a production accountant with the South Charleston plant. During his career with Carbide, he took a short leave while serving his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, St. Albans. Surviving are his wife, Frances C. Paxton; his son, Richard K. Paxton of St. Albans; his daughter and her husband, Carol and James Harvester of Tampa, FL; his brother and his wife, Roy Kendall and Betty Paxton of Lakeland, FL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Lakeview United Methodist Church with Rev. Ritchie McNiel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may visit from 6-8pm Wednesday at the church.
