Joseph Allison Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joseph Waldron Allison III, 80, of Bills Creek Road, Winfield, WV entered into Heaven on January 18, 2010, after a long illness. There were fireworks on the day he was born, for he was born on the Fourth of July, 1929. Joe was the son of the late Mr. Joseph W. Allison II and Ida G. Parsons Allison. Joe retired from Union Carbide Corp. where he worked as the plant Training Administrator. Joe?s most satisfying work was the Lord?s work. He was a 55 year member of the Judson Baptist Church, Winfield. Over the years Joe worked with many Committees and served as Church Treasurer, Baptist Youth Advisor, Youth and Adult Sunday School Teacher and Deacon, until his health prevented him to do so. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his brother Bill Allison. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Faye Allison; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Tant of Winfield, and Pamela Gail Knight, Rockport, Indiana; six grandchildren; Allison and Fred Gray; Robert Tant, Jenny Tant, Shannon and Matt Egg, Tiffany Knight, Heather Knight, and three great-grandchildren, Jada, Alena and Brier Gray. Visitation will be Wednesday January 20, 2010 from 6-8pm at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm , Thursday January 21, 2010 at Judson Baptist Church, 1400 Bills Creek Road, Winfield with Rev. Harold B. White, Jr. and Rev. Fred McCallister officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joe Allison?s memory may be made to Judson Baptist Church, 1400 Bills Creek Road, Winfield, WV 25213.
