Lois P. Bailey

Lois Pauline Bailey, 85, of Poca passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston. Born September 21, 1931 in Buffalo, she was a daughter of the late Blaine and Pauline Roberts Cowan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bailey as well as her brothers, Guy, Jim and Fred Cowan and sister, Betty Knell. Lois was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her generous nature allowed her to care for over 200 foster children, she was always willing to help and give to anyone in need. She was a retired Putnam County School employee and a 20 year cancer survivor. Surviving are her son and his family, David Bailey (Cathy), their children, Brooke (Eddie) Smolder their children, Braylie and Eddric, Brittany Harper (Dave) and their children, Betley and Cassidy; daughter, Rebecca Lewis (Bill) and their family, Maria (Jay) Cerrone and their children, Trevor and Shelbi Azeredo, Maggie Grace Cerrone; son, Timothy Bailey (Sherry) and their children, Hollie Bailey, Bryan Bailey (Jennifer), Natalie and Aletha Bailey; daughter, Syonia Peterson (Chad) and their children, Ryan and Carter; Harold Bailey, Jr.. (Nancy) and their children, Kelsey and Jennifer. Lois is also survived by one brother, Billy Cowan. Funeral service will be held at 3pm Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield with Rev. Mark Kilburn officiating. Entombment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House, WV. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm Sunday until time of service.
