Michael DeLuca Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael DeLuca, 89, was taken to Heaven with angels at his side on November 26, 2010. He slipped away peacefully from this world while napping. Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois to Margaret and Phillip DeLuca. He and his wife Bertha spent their retirement years living in sunny Sun City, AZ for almost 30 years. They most recently moved to St. Albans, WV. He served in World War II. He was a Tech Corporal in the U.S. Army. His tour was the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Mike received 2 Bronze Stars and an American Campaign medal while in the Philippines. He was a 3rd Degree lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Albans, WV. He retired from Union Tank Car Company as a electrician from Whiting, Indiana after 30 years of dedicated service. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Frank, his sisters Frances (DeLuca Librizzi, and Mary (DeLuca) Genardo. At 89, Michael leaves the love of his life, his wife Bertha (Kobe) DeLuca of 64 years. He is also survived by his son David DeLuca and his wife Terry DeLuca of St. Albans, WV,his daughter Susan DeLuca of Louisville, KY, his only grandson Christopher DeLuca and his wife Kathy DeLuca of Charleston, WV, granddaughter Michelle Tucker and her husband Eric Tucker of St. Albans, WV, granddaughter Lynn Richardson of St. Albans, WV, granddaughter, Theresa DeLuca of St. Albans, WV and granddaughter, Anne Bonior of Peoria, AZ. Michael had 4 dear great grandchildren ? Blake Thompson, Jaiden Fallecker, Tyler Richardson and Ella Morrison all of St. Albans, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans with Father Patrick M. McDonough officiating. There will be no visitation.
