Nellie Jarrett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nellie Pridemore Jarrett of Scott Depot, WV passed unto the Lord on October 7th, 2010 peacefully at the Hubbard Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born in Runa, WV June 8th, 1932 as a daughter of James and Gertrude Pridemore who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jimmy and Cecil Pridemore. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of fifty-seven years, Robert E. Jarrett of Scott Depot; daughter, Catherine Jarrett Zekan and her husband Dr. Stephen M. Zekan of Kanawha City; son, Robert Michael Jarrett and his wife Linda Kathryn Jarrett of Scott Depot. She leaves behind to cherish her memories nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Comer of Scott Depot; special nephews, Chris Comer of Scott Depot and John Comer of Miami, Florida and sister-in-law, Imogene Pridemore of Bridgeport, WV. Mrs. Jarrett was a member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church in Scott Depot and retired from Bell Atlantic as a supervisor of Automotive Operations. She was the proud matriarch of her family supporting them all in their endeavors. She cherished and practiced the simple things in life foremost having her loved ones at Grandma?s house simply loving them. The family would like to thank the fifth floor Oncology unit at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Dr. Stephen Zekan and Dr. James Frame, along with the entire staff at Hubbard Hospice House for all the compassionate care and kindness they bestowed. Mrs. Jarrett will be laid to rest at Cunningham Memorial Park with a private service being held with the Reverend Joel M. Harpold ministering to the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25312.
