Nyle Lee Pauley

Nyle Lee Pauley, 84 of Scott Depot, went to be with the Lord and to be reunited with his wife Ruth on Sunday, August 28, 2016 in the comfort of his home. Born March 5, 1932 at South Charleston to the late Londis Henry and Hazel Lee Pauley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth J. Pauley. Siblings: Geraldine “Sis” Landers, Lowell “Dutes” Pauley, Benjamin Pauley, Darrell Pauley, Ell Bird, Marvin Pauley and Harold Pauley. He was a retired mechanic for Smith Transfer Corporation. He faithfully attended Scary Creek Church of God, Scott Depot and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Nyle (Nook) lived a simple yet beautiful life on his farm surrounded by those he loved dearly. He was a hard worker spending his days working on his land and his evenings visiting the people who needed to see a faithful smile and the hope he had in Jesus. He was a truly selfless man, giving his time and resources to those who needed it most. He was an Absolute pillar of faith for his family and all those who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him but those who knew him can also be filled with peace knowing he is at home with our Lord Jesus Christ and reunited with his love Ruth Pauley. Surviving him is son, Don Pauley (Jackie) of Scott Depot; daughter, LeeAnn Leslie (Brian) of Hurricane; brothers, Bert Pauley (Carolyn) and Jim Pauley (Karen). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brett Pauley (Ariene), Derek Pauley (Sarah), Erica Leslie, Taylor Pauley and Sean Leslie and great grandchildren, Ady Pauley and Braxton Pauley. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with Pastor Peggy Larck officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, Upper Mausoleum Chapel, St. Albans with military honors. Friends may call Wednesday, two hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
