Reba Barrett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Reba Alene Barrett, 90 of Hurricane, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2009, after a short illness at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Born June 14, 1919, in Scott Depot, WV a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Edna L. Holcomb Wood, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Lee Barrett; sons, Ronald L. Barrett, Donald G. Barrett, Stephen A. Barrett, Kenneth W. Barrett and daughter Shirley A. Barrett. Those left to cherish her loving memory are daughters, Mable A. Dailey of Hurricane, WV,Carolyn Six (Richard) of Brandon, FL, Sharon R. Stark (Bill) of Dunbar, WV. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen Shrout of Hurricane, WV, Janis Vosper of Hillsboror, Ohio and brothers, Chester Wood and Jessie Wood both of Hurricane, WV as well as many relatives and friends. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Hurricane, WV and her legacy will be that of a most faithful and loving servant who loved God with all of her heart and loved all those around her. A tribute and celebration to Reba?s life ministry of serving her Lord and Savior and the love of her friends and family will be held on Sunday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Hurricane, WV with the Rev. Charles V. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans, WV Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV Join us for a reception for fellowship and food at the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church dining hall after burial.
