Robert R. Cremering

Robert R. Cremering, 80, of Scott Depot, formerly of St. Albans, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, WV. Born June 21, 1933 in Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late Wilfred J. and Helen Mueller Cremering. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Jean Mendell. Bob was a retired chemical engineer with Union Carbide with 35 years of service. As an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, he participated in the Knights of Columbus, the choir, Catholic War Veterans and served as an Eucharistic Minister. He was also very active within his community coaching both Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball in St. Albans and was the finance secretary with the former Birthright of St. Albans. He enjoyed golfing and performing with the Kanawha Kordsman. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Beth A. Cremering; his children, Robert Richard “Rick” Cremering, Jr., (Susan) of Atlanta, GA, Donna Jean Poling (John) of Richmond, VA, Carol Lyn Delbart (Scott) of South Charleston, Gerald Allen “Jerry” Cremering (Terri Reed) of Chicago, IL, Stacia Anne “Stacy” Cox (Christopher) of Columbus, OH; his grandchildren, Brittany, Johnny, Christy, Caity, Evan, Kevin, Robert, William, Michael, Samantha, Matthew, Niki, Will and Joe; sisters, Judy Chojnachi (Jim) of Stow, OH, Jeanne Gibb (Gilbert) of Flint, TX; brothers, Don Cremering (Debora) and Bill Cremering both of Cincinnati, OH. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans with Rev. Father Patrick M. McDonough officiating. Visitation will begin at 10am at the church. A private, family burial will be held at a later date at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Scott Depot, WV.
