Ruby Irene Taylor

Ruby Irene Taylor, 81 of Hurricane, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2023. She was born on November 4, 1941 in Cottageville, WV to the late Everett and Mabel Perry. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Jesse Taylor; sisters: Ollie Stone and Opal Durham; and brothers: Ray Perry, Jack Perry and Jim Perry who were all originally from Jackson County WV. She is survived by her three children: daughters, Sandra (Calvin) Bench, Claudia (Frank) Yeager, and son: Jesse “JA” (Gayle) Taylor II, all of Hurricane; four grandchildren: Amanda (Roscoe) Bevins, Joshua Bench, Ashley Yeager of Hurricane and Charles Edwards (Taylor) of Huntington, WV; six great-grandchildren: Dylan, Kayleigh and Makenzie Bevins, Emma Bench, Weston and Brooklyn Yeager all of Hurricane; brother, Tom (Mollie) Perry of Surf City, NC and sister, Diana (Steve) Pierce of Brighton, Michigan and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruby was a devout Christian who loved her Savior more than anything. She was a member of Teays Valley Baptist Church for 49 years. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. Being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother brought her so much joy. She loved her family and continued to show how much she cared by taking care of needs before her own at times. She would always be willing to help anyone out and had so much compassion to share with all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her big beautiful blue eyes and her warm hugs. She enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel music, listening to preaching, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She will be missed by so very many people. Although she loved her family very much, she missed her sweet husband tremendously since he went to be with His Savior in 2014. She would always talk about him and looked forward to the day they would be reunited. Funeral Service for Ruby will be 11:00am August 5, 2023 at Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church 3926 Teays Valley Road Hurricane, WV with Rev. Dr. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park Hurricane, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service at the church.
