Ruby Young Foster Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hurricane- Ruby Lucille Young Foster, 93, of Hurricane went home to be with her Lord March 7, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Born February 2, 1918 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Venola (Mitchell) Young. A lifelong resident of Hurricane and a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, her greatest joys were her family, reading the Bible, following the Lord and serving others. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Waiting to meet her in Heaven is her husband of 58 years, E. Odell Foster who passed from this earth in 1995. Ruby was also preceded in death by her daughters, Patricia and Judy Foster; her brothers, Clayton, Lewis, Dennis and Bernie Young; her sisters, Mary Hodges and Ginny Gillispie. Left to cherish Ruby?s example of faithfulness to the Lord, devotion to her family and her infectious humor are her daughter, Coneda Gibson of Hurricane; her sons, Gerald (Jane Ellen) Foster of Hurricane, Johnnie (Brenda) Foster of St. Charles, MO; her grandchildren, Billy (Debbie), Bob (Teresa) and Brad (April) Gibson, Robin (John) Johnson, Jonathan (Kari) Foster, Jeremy (Emily) Foster, Jessica Foster, Dan (Amanda) Dickson, Nancy (Keith) Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Joey (Paula) Gibson, Eric Richardson, Katie, Kayla, Rachel, Emily, Levi, Loren, Lacey and Luke Gibson, Anthony and Ciara Johnson, Hayden, Grant, Marin, J.D., and Nathan Foster, David, Brooklin and Eli Dickson; her great-great-grandchildren, Chelsea Adkins and Josie Gibson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane with Rev. Mark Kilburn officiating.
