Thomas Allen Robertson

Thomas Allen Robertson, 81, of St. Albans, West Virginia celebrated his eternal homecoming in Wilmington, North Carolina on Monday June 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest of three children of Lawrence and Rosa Mae Robertson in St. Albans. He attended St. Albans High School, Class of 1953, during which time he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He later went on to attend West Virginia University obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. It was during that time that he married his high school sweetheart, JoAnne Denny Robertson. They remained sweethearts for over 62 years. He worked at Union Carbide where he completed his career as a Team Leader for an International Health, Environmental, and Safety Auditing Team, which led them on adventures all over the world. He was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge, Number 58, A.F. and A.M. He served in the ROTC and completed his service to our country as a Captain in the US Army Reserves. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration from West Virginia University and most recently has met all the requirements for a Masters of Divinity. Most recently he spent his time serving with Prison Fellowship Ministries of Kanawha Valley and as a Volunteer Chaplain at Thomas Memorial Hospital. Over the years he served in various roles at First Baptist Church of St. Albans where he had been a member for over fifty years. Those left to carry on his legacy include his son Jeff Robertson, of St. Albans, WV; his daughter and son in law, Dee and Carl Bartoe of Nitro, WV; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Heather Bartoe of Nitro, WV and Jay and Kait Lakhani of Huntington, WV and his smallest treasures his great grandchildren Sonali and Micah Lakhani of Huntington, WV. Please join us in celebrating his homecoming with his Savior on Saturday July 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of St Albans, located on the corner of 2nd Street and 6th Avenue. The family will be receiving friends from 1p.m. to 3p.m. with a service in Celebration of Tom’s Life to begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Joel M. Harpold officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, West Virginia.
