Arnold Ray Ferguson

Arnold Ray Ferguson, 72 of Pliny, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022. Ray was born in Pliny to the late Russell R and Zeda M. Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Ferguson. He served his country in the US Army with the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star, among many other accolades. Ray was a heavy equipment operator for Kenneth Dunn, Taylor and Striegel, and several other construction companies. He is survived by his daughters, Amanda D. Ferguson Griffith (Bobby) of Pliny and Leslie Rae Ferguson Downey of Midway; sister, Lois Kay Stewart of Pliny; brothers, Johnny Ferguson of Pliny, Pete Ferguson (Sandy) of Pliny, Dick Ferguson (Betty) of Pliny, Bob Ferguson (Sue) of Pliny, Terry Ferguson (Carolyn) of Pliny, and Jimmy Ferguson (Tammi) of Pliny; grandchildren, Cody Brent Griffith, Bryce Addington Downey, Kaylie Dee Griffith and Aubrey LeDale Downey; and many other extended family and friends. His Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 pm Wednesday May 4, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. Friends may visit with the family from 6-7:00 pm at the funeral Home.
