Cecile Thistlethwaite, 80, of South Charleston, and prior to that, Tucson, AZ, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 16th, 2019. Born in April 1938, in Porcupine, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Josephine Heis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bruce Thistlethwaite. Cecile, the matriarch of her family, was beloved by her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her love and care of animals, her passion for her Pens, Steelers, and the Mountaineers, her artistic and singing ability, and most importantly, her love of family in the U.S. and Canada. She is survived by her children and their spouses Dr. Daniel “Danny” Thistlethwaite (wife, Pam) of South Charleston, Kelly Strom (husband, Dennis) of Dunbar, Lisa Snyder (husband, Scott) of McMurray, PA, and Dr. Timothy “Timmy” Thistlethwaite (wife, Dina) of Charleston, and grandchildren Travis, Ian (fiancé, Diana), Alexandra (husband, Carlos), Nicholas, Tristan, Hannah, Jace, Alexander, Liam, and CecileMarie, and twin great-granddaughters, Lily and Daniella. Cecile is also survived by her sisters Donna Gibson and Jo Ann Heis, and her “spoiled babies” Tinkerbell and Abby Rose. A gathering of family and friends will be held beginning at 1:00pm Sunday January 27, 2019 at the Holiday Inn & Suites-Charleston West, 400 2nd Avenue, SW Charleston WV 25303.
