Judge James Lee Thompson

January 6, 1921 - May 24, 2022

Judge James Lee Thompson, 101, passed away peacefully at his home on May 24, 2022. He was born to the late William E. and Rose Anna Dorothy Queck Thompson in Hurricane WV on January 6, 1921. Judge Thompson was also preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Erwin Thompson, and daughter, Marsha L. Stewart. Judge Thompson was retired from the 29th Judicial Circuit, was a life-long resident and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Hurricane, WVU Law graduate, and proudly served his country in combat during World War II in the US Army. He is survived by Marsha’s three children, Margaret Stewart, Lee Stewart (Crystal) and Sean Stewart; and son-in-law, David Stewart. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 2635 Main Street, Hurricane, WV 25526 Rev. Jerry Losh will officiate the Graveside Service with the family at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, beside the grave of Eloise and other family members.
