Joseph B. Tribble

Joseph Bryan Tribble, 90, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He was born in Charleston to the late Boyd and Ruth Marshall Tribble. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Hackett Tribble; sisters, Neva Pyle and Louis Woodell. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Albans. He was an exceptional man of God and was loved by everyone who knew him. He wrote and shared Christian Poetry. It was another way he had of sharing God’s love. Joe dedicated his life to helping others. He was always there for his family, friends and neighbors. He spread love and laughter wherever he went. It was always a joy to be in his company. He was a corporal in the US Army from 1946 through 1947. He spent 2 years in Okanawa right after World War II. Joe retired from Union Carbide Corp., South Charleston with 44 years of service as a lab technician. He was involved in many different projects but his best accomplishment was his discovery of polyurethane flexible foam. He enjoyed his work and made many lifelong friends along the way. He married Rose Hackett from Middleport, Ohio in 1954. They were blessed with the greatest marriage of 55 years. Some of the most memorable and happiest days were spent every year in Daytona Beach, Florida. He love boating and taught many friends how to water ski. He was always the first to ski down the Coal River in the Spring to open the season. He always reminded us that every day was a weekend and every weekend was vacation. He loved music and was known to break out dancing at any given moment. Joe and Rose enjoyed many wonderful retirement years traveling and playing golf. They loved spending time together and with family and friends. Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Sam Gibson; granddaughter, Amy Marie Sprague; brother, Wayne Tribble as well as many nieces and nephews Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of St. Albans, 2nd Street and Sixth Ave., St. Albans with Rev. Joel M. Harpold officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the First Baptist Church of St. Albans, Memorial Fund, In Memory of Joseph Bryan Tribble, 523 Second Street, St. Albans, WV 25177
