Kathy Kersey

March 11, 1955 - January 27, 2021

Kathy Lynn Kersey, 65, of Liberty went home to be with the Lord and her husband of 45 years, Billy Ray Kersey on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. She was born on March 11, 1955 to the late Marvin and Catherine “Pat” Cochran. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her step-grandson Nicholas Etter and step-great-grandson Carson Etter. Kathy was involved in many activities with her kids, the one she loved the most was 4-H. She was a volunteer with Putnam County 4-H for over 30 years, and was a member of the All-Stars. She loved 4-H camp and seeing all the kids. She was also a member of the Rock Branch Independent Church. She is survived by her children; Amanda (Paul) Babbitt of Liberty and Timothy (Heather) Kersey of Glenwood; her grandchildren: Dalton Jones of Charleston, Emily Jones of Melbourne FL, Hannah and Gavin Kersey of Glenwood, step-grandson, Jordan (Amanda) Babbitt of Black Betsy and her dog, Lilly; step-daughter: Tracy Kersey of IL; step-grandchildren: Joseph and Jessica Etter, Taylor Gottfriedt, Gabrielle Morford, and Charleigh and Xander Etter all of IL; siblings: Jeff (Greta) Cochran of Kenna, David (Belinda) Cochran of Fairplain, Galen Cochran and Vonda Cochran both of Liberty; brothers-in-law: John Kersey (Stella) of Cross Lanes, Frank Beckner of Glen Falls, NY; lifelong friend: Helen Martin of Poca; special niece: Jessica Cochran of Groveport, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Monday February 1, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield with Pastor Delbert Hawley and Pastor Brad Joseph officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. A special thank you to the Jackson County Home Health and Hospice Care for the care and comfort provided to Kathy. In accordance with state COVID 19 mandates, social distancing and facial coverings will be observed.
