Ronald Leo Lanham, born August 5, 1942, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 following a short illness. He was a US Army veteran, born again Christian and a retiree from the Charleston Housing Authority. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lanham; mother, Mary Shreeves Lanham; brother, Henry “Hank” Lanham, and sister, Rosemary Lanham. He is survived by his wife Barbara Lanham. His children include: Robin Rawlings, Ronald S. Lanham, Heather Lanham Morgan McDowell (husband, Darrick McDowell), Esther Lester (husband, Arnold Lester), Donald Baley Jr. (wife, Amber Baley), and Adam Baley; grandchildren: Hannah Morgan, Brandy Kidd, Rebekah Morgan, Barbara Kidd, Darrick McDowell II, Andrew Morgan, Brian Lanham, Jillian McDowell, CJ Morgan, Natalie Spurlock, Vivian Spurlock, Michael Baley, Mae-Ella Baley, David Baley, and Thomas Baley; great-grandchildren: Dyllon Garrett, Kendrick Morgan Hammons, Kyndale Morgan Hammons, and Kyra Morgan Tyree; also his sister: Virginia Hetzel (husband, Mike Hetzel), brothers: Robert Lanham (wife, Jane Lanham), Edward Lanham (wife, Pat Lanham), David Lanham (Dana Lanham) and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Ronald “Ron” will be sadly missed by all, but will never be forgotten. The love and time he has shared with each of us is timeless and will be treasured for all time. Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar.
