Charles "Charlie" Edward Six

Charles Edward Six Sr., 77 of Scott Depot passed away Monday March 27, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House, West, South Charleston surrounded by his family. Born November 8, 1939 in Big Chimney, Charlie was the only child of the late James Milroy Six and Louie Ardith Reynolds Six. Charlie served his country with the United States Air Force, his love of flying continued into adulthood as he pursued an amateur pilot license. He worked in the automotive industry and following retirement worked for Enterprise Holdings. Charlie had several hobbies he enjoyed. Working in the automotive industry fueled his enthusiasm for cars, he also enjoyed golfing and operated a Ham Radio and was a member of the Kanawha Valley Amateur Radio Club. He was a big family man, perhaps because he was an only child, Charlie loved being surrounded by family and friends. He was known as a giver, always giving of himself to others, helping in any way he could. Charlie was a Christian and loved his church family at Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot that was a great source of encouragement to the family. He is survived by his wife, Laura “Joy” Frances Six, on Friday the 31st of March, they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Charles Six Jr and Valerie of Winfield, Jamie Six and Amie of Hurricane and Scott Six and Donna of Dunbar; grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony, Ashley, Megan, Michael, Chase and Luke and great-grandchildren, Aubree, Isabella and Jack. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday March 31, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane with the Rev. Dr. Melissa Pratt officiating. Entombment will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service Friday. The family would like to give thanks to the CAMC Cancer Center and HospiceCare for their excellent care of Charlie. They would also like to thank all their friends and extended family for their prayers, those who sent cards and brought food throughout Charlie’s illness, your love and kindness will always be remembered.
