Deborah "Debby" Ann Gresham

Debby Gresham, 71, transitioned into Heaven on September 13, 2021 in Chapel Hill, NC. She was surrounded by loved ones. Debby was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. Debby was born to parents Dell and Evelyn Scott in Charleston, WV. She graduated from Marshall University in 1973 and was a teacher at Teays Valley Christian School for before retiring in 2000. In 2020, Debby and her husband moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. Debby loved the Lord and served Jesus with her whole heart. She loved birds, traveling, her church families (The Summit Church in St. Albans, WV and Trailhead Church in Graham, NC). She was a legendary baker. Many claimed she made the best pies in the world. Debby always looked forward to the fall season, and she enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas with her husband. Debby was a competitive game player – whether it was cards or board games, she wanted to win! Debby’s greatest joy was living for Jesus and serving her family through prayer and encouragement. Debby is survived by her husband of 50 years Hamm Gresham of Elon, NC; her two sons Jeremy Gresham and wife Kristin of Strawberry Plains, TN and Joshua Gresham and wife Anna of Gibsonville, NC; grandchildren Madison, Mason, Caedmon, Cohen, Colton, and Carly; brother Dell M. Scott and wife Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV). Visitation will begin at 8:30am, followed by a funeral service at 9:30 am. The graveside service will begin at 11am at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens (5233 Rocky Fork Rd, Charleston, WV). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Teays Valley Christian School.
