Thelma Pauline Rollins

Thelma Pauline Rollins, 93, of Eleanor passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 surrounded by her family. Pauline had been in declining health for the last few years but prior to that what a full life she lived! She married Charles “Chuck” Rollins on September 16, 1942 and now joins him in heaven as they would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this past Friday. Pauline spent her early years staying at the home and making sure her three girls were well taken care of and guided in the right direction. After they grew older, she went back to school and studied nursing, graduating from Charleston Memorial School of Nursing and passed her certification to be a licensed practical nurse. She retired after a long career of providing health care at CAMC in 1984. In addition to being a wife, mother and working full time, she was dedicated to her church and was a charter member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church. Her dedication to her Christian faith was always on display in her life. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Teays Valley Woman’s Club. After retiring, she and Chuck moved to Midway where they could always be found together working in the garden or the flowers. They became active in the Winfield Baptist Church following their move. Coming from a large family from Jackson County, she was born to the late Howard and Ollie Fisher and also preceding her into heaven were her brothers, Allen and Jack Fisher as well as her sister, Willidene Casto and an infant daughter, Brenda Lou. She is survived by her brother Lee Fisher of Dunbar. Pauline is survived by the “Three Sisters” who were the pride of her life. She made sure each one received the special attention they needed, even if it was sometimes firm attention!!! Her surviving daughters are Barbara Rollins Dawson (Ed), Betty Rollins Stamper and Paulette Rollins Short (Danny). Her next proudest group of survivors are her grandchildren, John E. Dawson, II (Jennifer), Jamie Dawson Sprigle (Cam), Stephen Stamper (Judy) and Amanda Stamper ( Josh Perry). Also, God allowed her to see great-grandchildren, Trey, Maddie and Emma Dawson, Ethan Stamper, Mason and Chase Sprigle and Gabriel Charles Perry. Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, September 23, 2016 at Winfield Baptist Church, 12902 Winfield Road, Winfield with Pastor David Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV. You may visit her tribute page at ChapmanFuneralHomes.com to share memories with the family. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 28-31.
