Virginia Hall Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Virginia Frances Hall passed away July 13, 2010, after an extended illness. She was born in Leewood, West Virginia on November 17, 1913 and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maude Cochran, husband, Clifford W. Hall, son, Keith W. Hall, brothers, George, Robert, Joseph, Arvell, Lee and sister, Louise Skaggs. She was a member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, Scott Depot. She was also a member of the Teays Valley Garden Club for many years and a talented artist. Virginia was a very caring person who helped raise her youngest sister, Fern, after the death of their parents within months of each other. After the sudden death of her daughter-in-law, Doris, she and her husband Cliff helped their oldest son raise grandchildren David, Susan and Marilyn. And she tirelessly cared for her husband during the last years of his life. She is survived by sons Larry (Pam) Hall, Sugarland, Texas , Paul (Carolyn) Hall, Scott Depot, WV, sister Fern (Harold) Swisher, South Charleston, WV, grandchildren David Hall, New Orleans, Louisanna, Susan Hall, St. Albans, WV, Marilyn Hall, Nitro, WV, Chris (Nellie) Hall, Houston, Texas, Kim (David) McCord, Houston, Texas, Tracie Hall, Cross Lanes, WV , Steven Hall, Melbourne, Florida and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Braley Care Homes for the wonderful care and support they gave Virginia, along with Hospice and Putnam Senior Services. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 17 at Chapman Funeral Home 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV with the Rev. Doug Jenkins and the Rev. Janet Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 16 at the funeral home.
