William Franklin Heishman

William "Bill" Franklin Heishman, Jr., 74, of Hurricane, entered Heaven?s gates on November 15, 2011. He was born in Shinnston, WV, February 22, 1937 to William Sr. and Mary Palcsak Heishman. He lived in Romney, WV, until he was five years old, then the family moved to Kanawha City where he grew up. Bill, or Junior, as he was known to many, graduated from Charleston High School, Class of 1955, where he played center on the football team his junior and senior years. He was chosen for the All State Football Team and played in the North/South game his senior year. He was a graduate of WVSC and served two years as a military policeman for the U.S. Army. Sixteen months of that time was spent in Korea. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane, Putnam Lodge# 139 AM&FM, 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Beni Kedem Shriners. He was a past member f the WV Board of Realtors and Kanawha Valley Board of Realtors. He was retired from U.S. Postal Service in St. Albans and Remax Real Estate in Charleston. Bill loved the Charleston High School Classes of the 50?s picnic reunions and the Santee, SC golf trips, both of which he helped originate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary (Billie) Bailey and his granddaughter, Katie Bellew. He is survived by his wife of 51 ½ years, Margaret "Nancy" Faxon Heishman; his son, Mark Heishman of Hurricane; his daughters, Kathy Heishman of Hurricane and Beth Nixon and her husband Russ of Beckley; his grandchildren, Adam Bellew, Jacob and Kelly Heishman, and Morgan and Blake Nixon; his special nephew who was like son, Bob Bailey, his wife Teri, and their son Chris, of Scott Depot; his sisters-in-law, Carol Emrick of Charleston, Ardeth Pickens and Jim of Louisville, KY and West Palm Beach, FL, and Erma Smith of Wingate, NC; his uncle Paul Palcsak of Miami, FL; his aunt Julia Shost, of Coraopolis, PA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm Friday November 18, 2011at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane with Dr. James Lutz and the Rev. Jim McGehee officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be held at 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
